Shaffer Immigration Law recently received approval for an EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) for a Brazilian real estate developer coming to the US to develop affordable housing and other large-scale real estate projects, creating hundreds of jobs in an economically struggling area of the US.
This individual has a proven track record of successful real estate development in Brazil, both in commercial and residential properties worth tens of millions of dollars. His proposed endeavor consisted of a detailed plan to develop affordable housing in an area of the US where housing costs are consistently rising and pricing lower income families out of the housing market. His work is projected to create hundreds of jobs in a Targeted Employment Area (TEA). At the time of application, this real estate developer had already secured funding for the proposed endeavor, commissioned a detailed market study to demonstrate the need for and potential benefits of the endeavor, and had the necessary pieces in play to develop a multi-family apartment complex worth approximately $30 million USD. His future plans include the continuation of affordable housing development where needed in the US, as well as working in other types of commercial and residential real estate development to create hundreds of jobs in the US.
